Hardship & Gorge Hardship Fund

Hardship Funding

In every community across British Columbia kids want a chance to play sport. Unfortunately, some families simply cannot afford the registration fees for their child to play in an organized environment.

The benefits of sport participation are well documented. Playing soccer supports the development of self-esteem, community engagement, confidence, leadership and teamwork skills.

Through the Gorge Soccer Hardship Fund (gratefully supported by our Gorge Force women's group), families dealing with financial difficulties have one less expense to worry about; they can ensure their kids have an even playing field when it comes to accessibility to the great game of soccer. That’s why the Gorge's Hardship Fund was started many years ago and that’s why funds are continually made available to ensure everyone who wants to play, can!

Parents of children seeking financial assistance to cover soccer registration fees should first contact the following agencies (in order of priority):

1. KidSport Victoria
http://www.kidsportcanada.ca/apply-for-assistance/

2. Canadian Tire Jump Start Program

3. Athletes For Kids

4. Let Kids Play Foundation

Please visit either site for information.

5. Gorge Soccer Hardship Fund

After all other sources have failed, please complete this form and apply to Gorge Soccer to have fees waived.

To expedite the application process, we recommend applicants hand deliver their completed application (see below), with supporting documents, to the Gorge Soccer Association office.
